Personal Assistance Service (PAS)
Services for ages 21 and over.
What is PAS (Personal Assistance Services)?
Personal Assistance Services (PAS) are nontechnical, medically related personal care services provided to eligible individuals whose health conditions limit their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs). These services are delivered based on a practitioner’s statement of medical need.
Trained attendants assist with personal care tasks, which may include, but are not limited to:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Mobility assistance
- Feeding
PAS supports individuals in maintaining independence and quality of life in their home or community setting.
Personal Care Service (PCS)
Service for ages 0-20.
What is PCS (Personal Care Services)?
Personal Care Services (PCS) is a Medicaid benefit designed to assist eligible clients with everyday tasks that they may be unable to perform independently due to a medical condition or disability.
These tasks fall into two categories:
- Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility.
- Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) – such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and assistance with medication.
PCS helps individuals remain safely in their homes and communities while maintaining their dignity and independence.
